It was 12am when everyone in the house was fast asleep. The only thing I could hear was my mind roaming around, rummaging through memories and thoughts of what was, what is, and what could be. It was at that moment when I heard the most beautiful sound. It was a familiar song that the universe would play if you were fortunate enough to hear it.
I could not help the curiosity and excitement boiling in me as I hoped that it would be what I thought it would be. I ran quietly out my room closing the door behind me. Down the creaking stairs and closer to the song of the universe, I went. At the corner of my eye, there it was. Outside my backyard on the other side of the glass door. It sat beautifully; the TARDIS. With all its wonder. And it was so…blue! I was mesmerized and little did I realize, I was walking closer to it. The glass door was now before me. ”Could this be it?” I thought to myself. The glass door was now behind me as I stepped ever closer to touch the doors I could only dream of ever coming in contact with.
“Oh, hello!” He exclaimed in surprise.
It was the man behind the door. A man who only looked like a man, but in reality was from another world. ”I’m the Doctor.”
I looked into his eyes and I could not believe it. It must have been a dream. As I gazed there, in the eyes that saw the universe, I could see a certain kind of sadness behind that infamous smirk on his face.
“You’re him,” I whispered. I could not help myself as I poked at him. “You’re the Doctor.”
“That’s me,” he smiled. He stepped out of the box and closer to me. “It’s dark out. I could’ve been a monster for all you knew.”
“I would take that risk,” I smirked.
“And why is that?” he whispered as he came closer to me.
“Who in their right mind wouldn’t?” I gleamed as this ‘dream’ became more real.
“Well then,” he recomposed himself to a more authoritative stature. He pushed the doors behind him.
“You do realize that you’re supposed to pull not push?” I chuckled.
“Don’t ruin the moment,” he said seriously, but not so seriously.
“Sorry,” I snickered.
“Shall we?” He asked as he reached out his hands walking further away from me into the TARDIS.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” I answered reaching for his hand as my face beamed with excitement. He smiled back and into the universe we went.
I slept at 9pm, but what happens when I do? My body reacts defiantly by waking me up at 12am. Now, I can’t go back to sleep.. And I have baby duty in the morning. And I’m unbelievable hungry. Wonderful.
